The passage and security of vehicles at barriers, gates, speedgates, etc. is regulated with a big supply of our sensors. With a loop detector a vehicle can be detected when it is present above the pavement. With a photoelectric sensor or a light grid can be prevented that a gate or barrier closes when a vehicle is passing. Number plate recognition is applied when a limited access should be granted to a vehicle.
Take for example a private garage of a company. Only employees or registered guests are allowed to enter the garage. For this number plate recognition can be used. If te number plate is recognized in the system then the gate of barrier will open.
It is also possible that every vehicle is allowed to enter the garage of the building or area. Herefore, number plate recognition is used to observe which and how often cars pass the gate or barrier. The numbr plates are here used for observation and control of the buildings and areas.
The ANPR camera stands for Automatic Number Plate Recognition. This ANPR camera scans the number plates of vehicles which approach the barrier or gate. With a limited access only the number plates that are stored in the web-interface are granted access. The image of the number plate is sent tot the recorder. If recognized in the interface, the barrier or gate will open. In this way, number plates that are not recognized will not be granted access to the garage or other building or area. When every vehicle is allowed to have access, the number plate is just scanned and the gate will open. The number plates are stored on a recorder and could be looked up in the future. For example when there is a robbery or another suspicious situation.
