Preventing an uneven positioning of windshield washers or other spray jets
Washer jets are used to distribute liquids equally on a surface. It is important here that the washer jets become clogged, which can result in a uneven distribution of the applied layer on a surface. By carrying out the positioning and an angle control on the washer jets this can be solved.
A car is equipped with a windshield washer. This washer exists besides two water jets which spray parallelly and in a right angle on the surface also of a fan jet which sprays with a wide angle on the surface. These spray jets need to be positioned in such a way that the whole surface is covered. Furthermore, the opening angle of the water and fan jets should be monitored. With a laser light curtain customers are capable of performing the positioning and angle control on the washer jets. This results in a perfectly working washer jet installation for every car. In this way, less cars need to come back to the garage and costs are saved in the service.
Another example is the attaching of a paint coating on an object. Here, a spray jet is used to equally distribute the layer on the surface. To prevent disproportions, the jets should be well positioned. Furthermore, the liquids should be attached from the right angle. Also when attaching glaze on a cake the spray jet needs to be well positioned. With a laser light curtain from Sensor Instruments, these challenges are solved.
Laser curtain for a reliable detection of spray jets
The LT-LAS-TB-75-T+R-AL is a laser light curtain from Sensor Instruments which is capable to perform the positioning and angle control of spray jets. This laser curtain exists of an emitter and a receiver and has a range up to 75 mm and has an accuracy of 8 µm. Furthermore, this laser curtain is provided with 2 digital inputs and 3 digital outputs and 0-10 V or a 4-20 mA analog output and communicated via the RS232 interface. Lastly, the laser curtain uses LED indication.
