The SPECTRO-1-20-UVC-DIL is a contrast sensor from Sensor Instruments with an integrated diffuse optic in combination with an UVC LED light source and a range of 10 mm up to 40 mm. The contrast sensor has digital inputs, 2 digital outputs and 1 analog output, a RS232 interface and has an integrated cooling element.

Description
The SPECTRO-1 series consists of a wide range of contrast sensor with different optics, spot sizes and mounting heights depending on the wishes and demands in the applications.
The SPECTRO-1-20-UVC-DIL works with a diffuse optic. The problem with many color detection sensor is that the colors of surfaces with a certain structure can not always be measured reliably because of a fluctuating gloss factor. The color of products with glossy surface are then recognized more or less intensive than intented. The solution is using a SPECTRO sensor with a DIL optic. Because of the diffuse light source the gloss of the surface is significantly reduced. The result is that even with structural distance fluctuations a reliable measurement is realozed and moreover the smallest color differentiations are recognized.
An example is measuring the level of maturity of flowers in the holticulture, where the flowers have different color transitions but also have surfaces with structural changes.
Moreover the sensor has a UV light source, which makes it possible to supervise the surfaces which are not visible in common light (thus transparent objects which only light up because of UV light).
