Fork sensors are photoelectric thru-beam sensors in a aluminium fork housing. These type of sensors are, because of the high switching frequency (up to 10 kHz), ideal for high-speed detection and counting applications where accuracy and reliability are of great importance. For applications with even higher counting and detecting speeds there are photoelectric laser sensors with switching frequencies of up to 300 kHz!

The photoelectric fork sensors from the OFS serie are available with fork openings between 2 and 220 mm, with infrared light as a standard. If desired, ask for our versions with visible red light and the versions with excess gain. The latter are also suitable for use in environments where a lot of dirt or water is present. The fork sensors have a 3-pin M8 connector. The sensitivity is adjustable via a potentiometer. Most models are PNP-NO and NC adjustable or have a PNP-NO or PNP-NC output.
The FC5 series
The FC5-series from Micro Detectors are fork sensors in aluminum housing, use red LED light, and are available with different fork openings. The high switching frequency makes these sensors suited in fast applications such as the detection of objects on a conveyor. The sensors are equipped with a 3-pin M8-connector, with a IP65 protection degree and a choice between a PNP or NPN and NO or NC switching output.
The FC6 series
The FC6I-series from Micro Detectors are fork sensors with infrared light or laser sensors (laser class 1) in aluminum fork housing with different fork openings. The fork sensors have a high switching frequency (10 kHz) makes these sensors suited in fast applications such as the detection of objects on a conveyor. The sensors are equipped with a 4-pin M8-connector, with an IP65 protection degree and a choice between a PNP + NPN (NO / NC) switching output.
