SmartProtectFire: Smart hot spot and fire detection before it's too late
- Proactive fire detection system
- Visual smoke detection
- 24/7 early detection of hot spots (EFD)
- Prevent damage from fire

Thermography has proven to be a valuable tool for fire and broth detection at waste sites due to its ability to detect incipient fires at an early stage. Waste sites are an environment where fire and scalding hazards are a real risk due to the presence of combustible material and potentially hazardous conditions. Think, for example, of batteries lying among the waste. Choose fire and scalding protection with thermography to prevent damage and unsafe situations.

Schedule a no-obligation appointment and find out what SmartProtectFire can do for your business.

SmartProtectFire sees what the human eye and standard cameras miss. Thermal sensors continuously monitor temperature trends and recognize anomalies. Smart AI analyzes whether the heat source is hazardous and can distinguish between vapor, dust and actual smoke. Once a hazard is detected, immediate notification follows to a control room, dashboard or mobile receiver. This early detection allows you to take immediate action, avoid downtime and prevent major fire damage.

After a previous small-scale fire, we found in Sensor Partners' system a reliable solution to prevent this in the future.
Detection of hotspot: A battery or lithium-ion battery with an elevated temperature will be monitored by the SmartProtectFire system. This requires the battery to be in view of the thermal camera. Unfortunately, we cannot see through mass as many Hollywood movies lead us to believe.
Detection of smoke: A thermal runaway produces a lot of smoke, this smoke can be detected by SmartProtectFire. When a battery at the bottom of a waste pile or scrap metal gets a thermal runaway, it is not thermally detectable but the exiting smoke is. As a result, batteries and lithium-ion batteries that get a thermal runaway can be detected.
Fire detection is mandatory in many cases. According to the Occupational Health and Safety Act an employer must provide a safe working environment, and in the Building Code include specific rules about fire alarm systems, depending on the function of the building or location and the risks present. For temporary storage of combustible materials or in high-risk locations, an automatic detection system is often required or strongly recommended. Also insurers regularly impose additional requirements: a fire detection system may even be a condition of coverage or the amount of the premium.
A proactive fire detection system not only signals fire as soon as it breaks out, but detects early signs of danger, such as temperature rises, smoke development or hot spots in machinery and equipment. This early warning can often nip a fire in the bud, reducing damage, downtime and safety risks. Increasingly insurers to proactive detection because it significantly reduces the risk of major damage. SmartProtectFire is a proactive fire detection system.
Fire detection can be done in several ways. Traditional systems use smoke detectors, heat detectors or flame detection. For high-risk environments, Sensor Partners goes with thermographic cameras and sensors one step further. The SmartProtectFire system recognizes abnormal temperature rises and potential hotspots at an early stage. This enables faster intervention and prevents fire, damage and downtime as much as possible.
The SmartProtectFire system is designed for environments where the risk of fire is high and early detection is crucial to prevent damage and downtime. Examples include:
Recycling and waste disposal - early detection of scalding, self-ignition or fire in shredding and storage halls.
Storage and logistics - Monitoring of temporary storage of flammable goods, packaging materials and warehouses.
Manufacturing and industry - continuous monitoring of machines, silos and plants for hot spots or overheating.
Energy and sustainability - protection of biomass plants, battery storage (battery storage) and solar parks from thermal runaway and fire hazards.
Agricultural sector - protection of barns, feed storage and drying facilities.
In short: wherever combustible materials are present or where downtime has major consequences, SmartProtect offersFire a reliable and proactive solution.
SmartProtectFire uses more than just temperature:
Thermal sensors To continuously monitor temperature trends and anomalies.
AI Analysis to assess whether a heat source is hazardous, and to distinguish between normal heat, vapor, dust, or actual smoke hazards.
Visual smoke detection To signal smoke as it is released, especially when temperature alone does not provide complete assurance
Yes, with temperature measurement only can you detect fire or scalding in many cases, especially if you have good thermal sensors and a system that is alert to anomalies. But it is not guaranteed that you detect fire early with temperature alone in all situations, especially if the potential fire source is covered or hidden.
For maximum reliability, a combination of:
Temperature measurement (thermography / hot spots)
Smoke or visual smoke detection
Proper positioning of sensors (sight lines, ventilation, etc.)
Quick notification/response
It is difficult to name one fixed ROI (Return on Investment) for SmartProtectFire. The payback period and ultimate return depend greatly on the situation: the nature of the materials stored, the value of the stock or machinery, the likelihood of scalding or fire, and the costs involved in any disaster.
What is clear, however, are the benefits of a proactive fire prevention system:
Early detection of anomalous temperature rises prevents a small hot spot from growing into a large fire.
Limiting damage and downtime: the sooner you intervene, the smaller the impact on inventory, machinery and production processes.
Higher security for employees and visitors, which is often more important than financial benefits.
Positive effect on insurance: in some cases, insurers value preventive measures with premium discounts.
Less disruption to business continuity: in addition to direct damage, downtime, cleanup and loss of reputation often cost a lot of money.
Not everything is easily expressed in terms of money. Safety of people, continuity of your processes and prevention of irreparable damage are at least as valuable. Therefore, many organizations look not only at the ROI in euros, but also at the broader value SmartProtectFire adds.
Traditional fire alarms often do not respond until smoke or fire is already visible and approaching the detectors. This wastes valuable time. AI-driven systems such as SmartProtectFire continuously analyze temperature and smoke images, recognize anomalous patterns much earlier and reduce false alarms by recognizing and filtering out "contamination" from normal business activity. An Ai system can thus alarm faster and more reliably prevent major fires and damage.
We are happy to engage with you to put together the perfect SmartProtectFire system.
