Inductive sensors

Inductive sensors only switch on magnetic metals. These have the advantage of not being sensitive to all other materials in the environment, such as wood, plastic or pollution, so that detections are extremely reliable. Unlike a mechanical switch, an inductive proximity switch is wear-free due to its non-contact operation.

Inductive sensors work on the principle of change of inductance. This change occurs when a metal enters the detection area of the sensor. In that case, the sensor detects a change in the coil impedance which is interpreted as a detection.

When using these sensors, it must be carefully considered for each application how the inductive proximity switch can best be used. PFK series

IL1/IL5, IL8 and IL9 series

The IL1, IL5, IL8 and IL9 series are inductive proximity switches in a cubic mini-housing. The sensors have different sizes:

IL1: 10 x 28 x 16 mm
IL5: 5 x 5 mm
IL8: 8 x 8 mm (Detection head on top)
IL9: 8 x 8 mm (Detection head in the middle)

Available with a NPN/PNP and NO/NC switching output and are equipped with a fixed cable, a 3-pin M8-connector or a fixed cable + 3-pin M8-connector.

VK series

The VK series from Micro Detectors are inductive proximity switches in a brass M18 housing. These sensors have a multivoltage power supply (20...253 Vac), a 2-wired AC (NO/NC) output and is equipped with fixed cable or a 3-pin M12-connector.

VT series

The VT series from Micro Detectors are inductive proximity switches in a brass M30 housing. These sensors have a multivoltage power supply (20...253 Vac), a 2-wired AC (NO/NC) output and is equipped with fixed cable or a 3-pin M12-connector.

AA, AB, AC, AD, AE and AH series

The AA (Ø3 mm), AB (M4), AC (Ø4 mm), AD (M5), AE (M8) and AH (Ø6.5 mm) series are inductive proximity switches in a stainless steel housing. All sensors have an IP67 protection degree, in combination with the stainless steel housing making them suitable for applications in an environment with harsh conditions. The sensors from this series offer a wide range of different dimensions, outputs and connections fitted to your wishes.

IBAC series

The IBAC series from schönbuch sensor are inductive proximity switches in a stainless steel M18 or M30 housing. Resistent to high ambient temperatures, so deployable in challenging industrial applications. The sensors have a PNP or NPN (NO) switching output and are equipped with a fixed cable.

FM series

The FM series from Micro Detectors are inductive proximity switches in a stainless steel M8, M12, M18 or M30 housing. The sensors are available in a miniature, short or standard housing, have a PNP/NPN (NO/NC) or PNP/NPN (NO+NC) switching output and are equipped with a 3-pin M8 or 4-pin M12-connector.
