Nesting in the production industry counts as a crucial part to prevent wasting of natural resources. During the nesting process, cutting patterns are projected on big surfaces of natural resources. Think here of production parts that need to be cut of a material such as a metal sheet. It is important to project these parts on the metal in such a way that little as possible of the material is wasted. Before this was carried out manually. That took longer, resulted in less efficient outcomes and eventually to more wasted materials and higher costs. Now, this process is almost fully automated with the use of laser projectors and software.

First, it is inventoried which parts need to be cut out. These can be parts in all kinds of shapes and sizes. With the help of algorithmns in the software it is possible to project all these types of parts on a metal sheet in a wat that waste will be minimized. Finally, the projection is carried out and the parts are cut out by cutting machine.

A laser projector is capable to perform the nesting process of metal sheets to prevent waste. The ZLP1 carries out accurate projections on the metal sheets and then cut these out. With the ZLP-Suite software you are able to organize the projection beforehand and analyze several data afterwards. This way, you will eventually be able to optimize the entire nesting process.

The ZLP1 is capable to perform 2D & 3D projections and works in an eye safe laser class (2M). The laser projector has a green 5 mW laser (520nm) with an opening angle of 60° and a passive or active cooling.
